HOUSTON – Storms will continue to push towards the coast over the next several hours. Some strong to severe storms are still possible, mainly east and along I-45. Once the front moves off the coast you can expect gusty winds and temperatures to quickly fall into the 40s.
Thursday’s Forecast
It’s going to be COLD Thursday! Temperatures will stay in the 40s most of the day with a gusty wind from the north making it feel more like the 20s and 30s. A wintry mix will be possible late Thursday evening into Friday morning.
Wintry Mix Possible Thursday:
This is a close call. While temperatures will be above freezing on the ground, temperatures in the upper levels of the atmosphere are below freezing. So we may get a wintry mix Thursday afternoon as precipitation starts to fall. None of the sleet or snow will stick, but my concern are our bridges and overpasses Thursday night and Friday morning. These spots could get ice, and create dangerous driving conditions.
A bitter cold Friday morning:
With strong north winds and temperatures near freezing Friday morning, our wind chills will be in the teens and 20s!
