Houston – Houston police said one teenager has died and another was injured after a shooting near West Little York Road and Easter Street on Wednesday evening.
Officers were called to the scene after witnesses reported a shooting just after 6 p.m.
Police said they found one victim, approximately 15 or 16 years old, who had been shot at a convenience store.
While officers were working on that call, they got a second call that another 15 or 16-year-old male with a gunshot wound was in front of a home on the street just north of there.
Police said both teens were in the parking lot of the convenience store when there was some kind of altercation between several people and several shots were fired.
“There were more than the two males there when the shooting took place,” said HPD Lt. Larry Crowson. “There was at least one other male, maybe two other males. We don’t know who’s involved or who the shooter was at this point.”
Crowson said one of the teens later died at the hospital.
Later Wednesday night, police were working to speak with any witnesses in hopes of figuring out what may have led up to the shooting.
